We've Been Published!!!

It you are interested in buying the magazine click the link above.

My wallet pattern can be found in the summer 2011 (its from the US) edition of Stitch Magazine. I can't even begin to describe my excitement when they accepted my pattern submission and I didn't actually believe it until the magazine arrived on Tuesday!

And here is the wallet. I was very pleased that they sent it back to me. It is now for sale on the website www.sweepy.weebly.com!

Overalls and Nappies

These are some cute overalls I have just added for sale on our weebly site. Size 000.

I have finally perfected my nappy pattern and this isn't it!! Well, it almost is, since making this one I've added a few minor tweaks, but this is essentially it. Elliot gladly modelled it for me, then refused to take it off so I let him wear it bed as an experiment to see if it would leak... it didn't!! Not a drop of leakage! I was very pleased!

This nappy fits my 20 month old and my three year old. I would say it is a medium (weight range 7 - 14kg).

Romper

This is a cozy romper I've made for my brother's baby. Its not arriving until may and we don't get to know the gender so I'm hoping this is neutral enough! I used a pattern to make this and it was crap! I had to trim it down several inches and the neck ended up really wide (which I also narrowed.). I hate it when patterns that you buy (or your mum buys and you steal them from her!) just don't work. Very frustrating. I used ribbing around the neck, wrists and legs as opposed to bias binding which the pattern suggested. Anyway, after a lot of alterations I'm pleased with the result!

The little spotty tree applique.

This is what happens when I try to sew when Ollie isn't in bed! Oh, and he's got no pants on!

Jeans

Ta Da!!! I can't quite believe I made these...
I thought they would be harder. These are for my nephew in Scotland. My poor family only get dodgy hand made presents from me!

I haven't put the button on yet.

Things I've been making for the boys!

I've kidnapped mum's overlocker for the month while she's in Scotland so I'm having a go at making some clothes. This top is made from three long sleeved onsies that I bought for Ollie that he's out grown.

Elliot's Sleep suit. I highly recommend Ottobre magazines for fantastic kids and babies patterns.

Taggie Blankie

A cute taggie blankie made from flannel and polar fleece with ribbons around the outside. I made one of these for Ollie when he was only a few months old and he loved it. He's lie on the floor and play with it for ages.

Nappies

Here is my second attempt at making my own nappies. I'm pretty pleased with this one! Ollie is too apparently! I bought a little hand held kam snap setter and its so much better than velcro. The first nappy I made falls off because the velcro doesn't stay done up. This one is an all-in-one nappy with a water proof layer of PUL under the cotton outer. The inner is made from an old flannel bed sheet and some gross polar fleece that I got on special at Spotlight ages ago! I am considering making these to sell once I get the design right but I will invest in some bamboo fleece which is much more absorbant than old sheets!

Look at those knees!! Phwoar!

Its probably a bit girly for Ollie but its ok because he's a metro!

SALE!!!

We have now added a Sale page to our website. An attempt to clear some of the items that have been hanging around for too long! I love this Pant Pocket Pouch. Its in the sale section because I didn't give it a lining (which isn't a problem, I just usually do). Have a look. There are also several kids sets.

Cool shorts

Here are some cool shorts I made for Elliot. Mum usually does the clothes sewing but I had her overlocker for the weekend so I put is to good use! Elliot had outgrown all his shorts and I went to k-mart to buy him some new ones, but decided I could make him some much nicer ones. He loves them too (given his obsession with cars). I only bought half a yard of this fabric and wasn't sure what I was going to do with it but now I think perhaps I should get some more! I must say the outfit as a whole is pretty bad (nothing matches) but at least his pants are groovy!

Introducing the UBER WALLET!!

Here is my new style of wallet. It has lots more space, including a zippered compartment on the back outer and a pocket on the front which the tab closes over.

Outer zipper.

The inside is the same as the older style. I must say this was an experiment and things usually go wrong with my experiments. First I sewed the back on upside down and had to unpick it all and then as I was doing the topstitching I broke my needle (shattered is probably a more appropriate word!). But I got there in the end and I'm very pleased with the results.
